Description
It is a soft, silvery element found in the 13th group of the periodic table. The most common natural isotope is In-115, which has a half-life of 6*10^4 years. There are five other isotopes. It was discovered by Reich and Richter in 1863.

Etymological Description
Eng. meaning "indigo" due to the spectrum line in indigo color. from indigo. The English word indigo comes from Spanish indico meaning "Indian blue dye", Dutch indigo (which in turn comes from Portuguese endego), Latin indicum and Greek indikon.

Uses
