Description
It is a soft, silvery metal element found among the lanthanides. Its only natural isotope is Pr-141 and it is not radioactive. 14 radioactive isotopes have been obtained artificially. It is used in rare earth alloys. In 1885 C.A. It was discovered by von Welsbach.

It is used together with neodymium in the production of lenses in glaziers' protective glasses, as it filters the yellow light during the glass blowing process. When alloyed with magnesium, a high-strength metal used in aircraft engines is obtained. It constitutes 5% of Misch metal
